As a child, Patricia (Pat) Bentsen attended church activities at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in a farming community near McCabe, MT. One evening a missionary nurse from Nigeria came to speak at Ebenezer. While showing slides of little children, Pat felt a “call” to become a missionary nurse. After graduating from high schoool, Pat attended nursing school in Minot, ND. While attending Bible school in Los Angeles, Pat felt the Lord’s command to serve in Madagascar. Over the past 30 years, Pat has filled many capacities in her ministry for Jesus in Madagascar, beginning as a nursing supervisor and anesthetist at a 60-bed hospital at Ejeda, in the southwestern part of the island.

She has also been a technical supervisor for the SALFA (Malagasy Lutheran Church Health Department) Primary Health Care or Under-Fives Program and the Tuberculosis Program. Most recently, Pat has been an advisor with SALFA, working in the centralized office in the capital city of Antananarivo.

Thanks for continued prayer support for Pat during her ongoing service in Madagascar.
