Emily Demuth Ishida
Emily Demuth Ishida credits John-Boy Walton with inspiring her to become a writer. She has written numerous devotionals and educational materials for Augsburg Fortress and the ELCA. She co-authored the book Plank Road Summer with her sister, Hilda.
Emily works as a school library and media assistant, and likes to read, hike, travel and write in her spare time.
She and her husband, Franklin, are parents of three children, David, Hans-Martin and Louisa—all too old for this magazine. However, Emily’s young nieces and nephews provide her with plenty of inspiration.
