Huisjen lives in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she is a full-time writer and editor. She spent 31 years working for a large Christian publishing house, the last 10 as a Bible editor, but thoroughly enjoys working from home these days on a freelance basis.
Huisjen is the single adoptive mother of three daughters, all of whom are now grown. She shares her condo with her youngest daughter and four-year-old granddaughter Adelyn, as well as a cat and a puppy. Huisjen's most recent book, The Puzzler: Forty-five Biblical and Just-for-Fun Puzzles for Kids from 8 to 88, may be obtained from her by email. She has published poetry books for kids, based on Psalms and Proverbs, as well as a devotional book for single moms, and is currently working on a 366-day devotional for women.
