This is the first Mother's Day without my mother. Now I understand the need for sensitivity to this and other special days. I remember thinking that Father's Day seemed a bit hollow after my father's death. Somehow, though the loss of my mother is far more deeply painful. I'll be taking a quick trip to Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary for Mother's Day to continue my journey toward ordination.
