Parents, grandparents, teachers and all who are responsible for nurturing a child's spiritual life will enjoy this hardcover selection of Psalms.
Paraphrased for young children, it's illustrated thoughtfully and delightfully by Arno. Both the wording and images are amazingly appropriate for ages 3 to 6.
Both adults and children can expect to develop "favorites" to be read and re-read over time. The simple, few words are well-chosen to reflect the meaning and spirit of the Psalms.
Vibrant bold, fanciful full-page illustrations accompany each psalm.
The artist chose to depict children from around the world as they walk through cities, dance on grass, fly on a bird, mope at the bottom of a well, ride on the back of an elephant, or find themselves small enough to sit on a flower.
My sons, aged 4 and 2, request this book at least once a week at bedtime. It's a great way to talk with your child about emotions and how we can bring anything to God, every moment, every sadness, every joy.
But watch out: once you start reading these psalms, it's hard to stop.
